Kristen Henehan has always been an
avid fitness lover. As a young child growing up in the San
Francisco Bay Area, she participated in every sport from swimming to
soccer. She found her true passion in running and as a senior at
Carondelet High School won the prestigious Footlocker National Cross Country
Championship. Kristen then went on to compete at Georgetown
University where she was a team captain and 3-time NCAA Division I
All-American. Most recently, Kristen surprised herself and the
local community when she won her debut marathon, the 2007 Marine Corps
Marathon. She then fulfilled a lifelong dream by qualifying for
the 2008 U.S. Women’s Olympic Trials with a personal best of 2:45:12.
Kristen has been featured in ESPN, Runner’s World, Sport Illustrated and
Washingtonian.
While the accolades are great, they aren’t what keep
Kristen motivated. She loves the positive energy that comes from
exercising and wants to share this passion with others. She wants
people to see that it is possible to have fun, meet new people and accomplish
your fitness goals all at the same time. When Kristen met Sheila
Cordaro and experienced the unique FIT 4 MOMS’s program she wanted to be a part of
this growing business. The cross training is a great supplement to
running and provides an amazing total body workout. She is excited
about opening a FIT 4 MOMS's branch in DC/ Chevy Chase and sharing the FIT 4 MOMS mantra that
“Staying fit doesn't have to be a chore.”
At the moment, Kristen is keeping herself busy by
working towards her American Council on Exercise (ACE) Certification, serving as
an Ambassador for lulelemon athletica and working full time as a government
affairs consultant at Evans Capitol Group. She is also preparing
for a different kind of marathon this fall as she and her husband, Mike, are
expecting their first child.
