Laura brings her love of running, whether on the track, open
road or the trails to the FIT team. A
native New Yorker, Laura has found one of her favorite things about living in
Northern Virginia is the abundance of running trails in the area. She credits her parents early introduction of
sports to her lifelong devotion to fitness and is looking forward to sharing
athletics with her own young children as well as those she meets in the FIT 4
KIDZ program. Additionally, she believes the successes she
achieved in athletics enabled her to develop the confidence that drove her
academic and professional careers and most importantly, the strength it takes
to keep up with her small children.
In high school, Laura was a state-level 400M hurdler and was
voted Most Valuable Female Athlete in her graduating class. She attended Loyola University in Maryland
where she ran for the school’s Division I cross-country program. Following college, she has completed three
marathons, many halves, a duathalon, a 50 mile relay across Long Island, and is
enrolled to run a Tough Mudder race in the fall.
